Rockport shoes feature the latest in footwear technology.
Genuine hand sewn construction – shoes made of a single piece of leather wrapped around the last to form the bottom and sides of the shoe upper. A vamp plug is hand sewn to the sides of the shoe to form the top of the vamp. Genuine hand sewn constructions are often very flexible with a slipper-like feel around the foot.
San Crispino construction – a type of stitch down construction that provides a wide, stable walking base. The upper material is flared outward, and wrapped around and under the edge of an extended insole board. The upper is stitched close to the last and cemented to the sole.
Strobel construction – the upper is stitched to a light flexible insole sometimes made of a canvas-like material. This produces a flexible shoe with cushioning augmented by the midsole, which can be felt through the insole material.
Walking Platform – Rockport’s patented construction based on a San Crispino stitch down heel and Strobel forefoot. This provides a wide base of support and forefoot flexibility for long-term comfort.
Dynamic Suspension – A cushion of moving air placed directly in a comfort foot bed reacts to your every step, making the road more comfortable. No matter how long, winding, or hard it may be.
Barefoot Style – Created with soft, genuine leather and an extremely flexible sole. The shoes are as close to barefoot as barefoot gets.
Walk-Dry – With waterproof uppers that instantly wipe clean, Walk-Dry footwear keeps your feet dry and comfortable no matter what eh forecast says.
Machine Washable – Combination of leather, nubuck and breathable mesh form shoes that are comfortable and new looking no matter how many times you wash and wear them.
