Ryka shoes feature the latest in footwear technology.
RYKA believes in giving back and continues to support the women’s fitness community by sponsoring events and programs that encourage all woment to go out and move, participate and be active.
In 2002, RYKA created the RYKA Women’s Fitness Grant Program. In partnership with the Women’s Sports Foundatin, the grants support organization and programs that enhance women’s lives through fitness. The grants provide financial assistance to fitness programs that empower and enhance the self-esteem of women.
RYKA also supports fitness industry professionals through our R.I.T.A. program (RYKA Instructor and Training Alliance), and alliances with various fitness groups like Melpomene and Jazzercise.
RYKA’s support of the women’s fitness community is deeply rooted in their collective belief that a woman’s participation in a fitness program builds and strengthens her self-esteem and confidence. As a company inspired by women, for women, RYKA knows from personal experience.
RYKA makes a full line of running, walking, cross training and studio shoes that are designed for a woman’s unique shape. Their shoes are wider in the forefoot and narrow through the heel – just like your foot.
RYKA’s benefit-driven technology delivers on three critical areas: Fit, Cushioning, and Stability. Fit is the foundation of a great athletic shoe. As a company started by women, RYKA knows that a woman needs a fit that is narrower in the heel and wider in the forefoot. Cushioning is one of the mainstays of all RYKA athletic footwear. A normal running or walking stride delivers the impact of 5x’s your body weight; taking care of your joints means a better, safer workout. Stability, not only are women’s feet different from men’s, but women also have different biomechanical needs. Podiatrists recognize the need for stability features in the design of women’s athletic footwear. Why? Women’s hips are wider, which creates an angle form their hips to their knees called the Q angle. As a result, pronation becomes a common problem for women.
